Imago DEI: Week Two Implicit Bias

Dear Hope Friends and Family,
Last week we celebrated that every single human is created in the image of God. It means that God's Image is really diverse and we are all Image-Bearers! Part of honoring the Imago Dei in every person, is acknowledging when implicit bias learned from family or personal experience or the cultural clues gets in the way of that. This is not an exercise in guilt or flogging or finger-pointing. It is simply an exercise in honesty.

AND the primary example of implicit bias getting in the way of treating someone fairly is going to come from Jesus in his early ministry. We'll look at what he did and why. It's a story that is usually avoided in worship!

Let's keep learning and growing together, following the model of Jesus.

P.S. There will be a FUN announcement in worship tomorrow. If you are not able to be present in-person or online, the same announcement will be sent via email tomorrow at noon.

Hope Info Fair Coming Sundays May 18 & 25
Newer here, and wondering how to get connected!? On Sundays May 18 & May 25, we'll offer an Info Fair from 9-9:30 & 10:30-11 in the Community Room!
We want to remove that mystery of how to get connected, and show you what is currently happening! Maybe you'll identify a gap, and want to provide leadership? Or you'll inspire another Hope person to step into that gap?
If you already lead a ministry, please watch for information coming this week to make sure you have space to promote it!
