Generosity in Giving

An Approach to Giving

Begin with prayer. Thank God for your blessings and ask for guidance and discernment.

Assess your income and giving. Determine your current giving as a percentage of your income.

Set your giving goal. If you are not currently tithing (giving 10 percent of your income), start with a lower percentage and then plan to increase the percentage each year, growing toward the tithe. The important thing is to begin the spiritual discipline of regular, consistent giving.

Determine your giving method. Take a look at the ways you can give and select the option that is best for both you and the church.

Worship with gratitude. Your generosity represents a commitment to God’s ministry through our church.

Give In Person

Each Sunday, we provide a moment of prayerful reflection, in which we ask each person to meditate upon that which they have and that which they might have to give out of abundance in generosity

Why should I give?
How much?   Which Way?
Where is my money going???

Unfortunately, we live in a world where the abuse of funds by faith leaders and institutions is rampant. Harm has been caused by individuals in power and metaphorical scars are felt within our subconscious understanding of "a time of offering".

For this reason, we invite you to ask questions, take a look at our financials, talk to our leaders, and pray/meditate upon the intentionality of generosity and giving.

Here are a few videos in which Rev. Cara McMorris, our Associate Pastor, discusses a few common questions!
